VERIFICATION OF CREDENTIALS FOR APPLICANTS TO COURSES OF STUDY AT AVONDALE COLLEGE OF HIGHER EDUCATION
Applicants who apply to undertake a course of study at Avondale must submit documentary evidence that they hold the qualification(s) required for entry into that course. An original or certified copy of the required qualification, or an official letter provided by the issuing institution confirming that the degree has been conferred, must be sighted.
Documentation submitted in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified official translation. Individuals who cannot provide documentation of qualifications due to extenuating circumstances must provide a statutory declaration stating the qualification and the reason for their inability to obtain it.
Where any question of authenticity or detail arises the Academic Registrar will correspond with the issuing authority to verify the documentation at hand.
Avondale maintains a subscription with the Australian Government Country Education Profiles Online website and this facility is used to check the status of educational institutions and qualifications as required.
The enrolment of a student in a course of study will be discontinued, and any grades or qualifications awarded rescinded by the Academic Registrar, where falsified documentation has been submitted for the assessment of entry to a course of study or entry into the country.
VERIFICATION OF QUALIFICATIONS FOR AVONDALE'S STUDENTS TO EXTERNAL BODIES
Personal information, including academic records, concerning current and former students will be released externally only with the written authority of the person (student or former student) concerned.
Third parties (employers, other educational institutions, professional bodies, agencies etc,) seeking verification of a student's qualifications should put a request in writing to the Academic Registrar, accompanied with a written authority from the student or former student concerned. If this is not possible, they should ask the person concerned to provide them with the documentation you required.
Confirmation of details regarding the student's academic history already available in the public arena are made available upon request without the written authority of the individual. Information in this category includes: graduation date, qualification(s) gained, and prizes granted. Additional details are only provided with the consent of the individual concerned or on the authority of the Academic Registrar.
